In a few cases of long term plucking or chronic malnutrition the feather
follicles are irreparably damaged and new feathers will not grow. There
is little that can be done about this other than to check that the skin
is healthy. If you are unsure you should consult and experienced avian
vet and have your bird's overall health checked.
Birds that have been 'stuck in the moult' for a long time may give up
trying to replace feathers and stop moulting altogether. Supplementing
with Daily Essentials3 and Calcivet will not stimulate a moult in these
birds if they have stopped. However they may moult fully next time they
try to replace their feathers.
